Children's Day

I got home at around 5pm after tuition today. And decided to finish baking the last batch of cookies that i was preparing as Children's Day presents. Yup, so by now all's done and all that's left will be be acting part time as Santa Clause for the upcoming week giving out all the presents! Children are really weird beings, funny thinking that i too was once like them? maybe yes, maybe no. Haha... they make you so angry and frustrated at times that i feel like banging my head on the table or just vomiting blood and die of anger. But at the same time, I still have the unknow urge to want to do things for them. Maybe its all due to the little things that they did? Little concerns like drinks for you before lessons starts, or their funny little jokes that we would share with each other, or even their small small improvements in their results after each examination...
 See that's like only half of the presents that i prepared. There's bags of cookies and sweets. =)
 The cookies that i packed into the cookies bags that i bought earlier on. I hope they like them. =)
 Oops! wahaha! I'm still playing around with photofunia! So fun really! Haha.. this time i had my face on the US dollar!!!! ^o^

Just some random stuff....
 I'm so hooked on to this game! Just completed the game this afternoon before tuition and I'm like totally in love with the theme song now! I even did some read up on the net about the Final Fantasy Series! Wahaha... And I'm replaying the game again! But this time in Normal mode =)
 Baked some cookies this afternoon, tried a different recipe this time. Turned out quite well, but initially i had some difficulty handling the dough, because its too soft! But for the 2nd batch, i put the dough in the freezer 1st and it became much much easier to mould it!! Haha.. stupid me, should have done it on the 1st batch too!
 Have never tried sprinkling Hundred Thousands on the biscuits before, so here's the first time.. =) They make the biscuits look very pretty and attractive!!  Haha, I saw pQ's blog and went to create one photo using www.photofunia.com too! Give it a try, its so cool! Wahaha!

老弟
今天傍晚难得一家人到齐， 在家一起享用晚餐。 因为平常老弟都不见人影。 而我也是今天才注意到在老弟的身上有一些明显是用手指甲抓伤的伤痕。 尤其是在手臂上， 脖子和脸颊。 我想就算是再白痴的人， 想也知道“因该”是他的女友弄伤的吧？ 问题是， 为什么类？ 好好的一个人， 干嘛去搞成那样子？？ 就算有多生气， 吵架吵得有多凶， 也没必要动手吧。 老弟左看右看， 也不像是会动手打女生的人。 所以无论是为了什么原因争吵， 谁动手打人就是不对！ 更何况她还是女生呢！ 难道就占说男生不会动手打她， 就能动手打人吗？？ 我妈八成也猜到老弟那些伤痕的来源， 我看她好像很操心的样子。 我也不知道该怎么办。 只能希望老弟能懂事点， 别再让妈为他操心了。 就算我们要管他， 我们又能怎么做呢？ 难道把他锁在家里啊？ 烦！ 烦！ 烦！

What a day...
Today was quite a tiring day for me, well as it has been for every other weekend for me though. I went to school for FM lecture at 12pm which lasted till 3pm. Oh, and know what, the lecturer has exactly the same name as my dad! haha... except the surname is different. Haha.. anyway, thats what the lecturer said the most today i guess, everytime after he tried to crack a joke, he'll use 'anyway' to continue with the lesson.. wahaha! Then i went to tuition which starts at 4pm near Kovan and then another one at 6pm. The one 6pm is suppose to be in the morning at 9am. But apparently the student has to go back to school for extra classes so changed it to 6pm.
Don't click the following unless you care to share my frustrations.... Today's tuition was all sucky! Tuition at 6pm, of course i understand that it is already in the evening and you might have had a long day as well, but since that's the time we set to have tuition and i made the effort to travel and be there, we should just make full use to that 1 1/2 hours right? I asked a very very simple question and the answer that i got has nothing to do with the question that i asked! yes completely off tangent!!! And i'm very sure that i phrase my question as clear and as simple as i could already!! Please! I know you are tired, but hey, what makes you think you're the only one that's tired?! U mean i'm robotic or what? I too had a long day...and would love to fly home and rest asap!!! You even requested for lessons to end 15mins earlier, well i said ok if i can cover what i wanted to in lessons today, then u further PUSH ur luck by literally GIVING ME INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE UP FOR THAT 15MINS IN TML'S LESSONS!!!! ok i'm not trying to be bossy or what, but please get something right.. or maybe you did asked polietly but i got it the wrong way... I'm the teacher you are the student! I do the talking and you listen!!! (sorry if i sound like one of those irritating teachers that even i used to hate last time as well) escuse me then, i'm just in a grouchy mood... sometimes i really feel that as i teach... all my patience are all running out.. i get easily frustrated when students don't perform, students can't complete their homework on time, or worse, don't recall that I did gave them homework!!! At the end of the day, it is their own loss, i always try to tell myself each time...

School's starting soon ~~~
Time passes very quickly, next week I'm starting School! Haha, should I be happy? I guess so. Firstly, that implies that the PSLE is starting soon and my heavy burden will be off my shoulders very very soon. Secondly, I get to enjoy school life for the very last year. Again I wished for nothing else but good grades so that I would obtain a reasonable certificate at the end of my 3 year course. I went shopping around for abit before tuition yesterday, and i finally bought myself a sling bag! Haha, yes the one that I have been looking for. Shall use it when school starts. =) Bought a new jacket as well, haha. In SIM you simply cannot attend lectures without a jacket! You will sure tremble so badly that you might have difficulty writing!!! The OST from Hana Yori Dango Final is still constantly played on my PSP and computer. Haha, would really love to watch it again if i have the chance. I even considered buying the DVD or VCD for the drama season 1 and 2 to rewatch them. But when i visited some of the TS, BlueMax and Poh Kim outlets, I can't seem to find them?! Only saw the season 2...so where's the season 1? Oh! I recently came across this cool blog that have a whole lots of recipes!! From cakes to breads to cookies to others!! Hana Yori Dango Final
Hana Yori Dango -- although the storyplot itself is not very realistic, but i guess we are all attracted to it because of the cinderella-like plot. We all wish that we were Makino, having a prince charming like Domyoji falling head over heels in love with her. Although he seems to be arrogant and self-centered, sometimes childish, but there is still a lovable side to him. And we also have the other 3 members of F4, always coming to her rescue when she needed help. Of course, lots of us were also drawn to Hanazawa Rui. The cute and always sleepy guy. =)
In the movie, similar to the 2 seasons of drama before that, Domyoji is always emphasizing that his feelings for Makino doesn't change. However, Makino is always having doubts about the marriage. Its a pity that the rest of the F4 doesn't make their appearance much in the movie. But i like the ending when they did a little explanation on what each of them are doing after the wedding a year later. Makino was pregnant! Haha... its funny when she was shouting out into the sea by the beach that she doesn't want their child to inherit Domyoji's character but his curly perm!!! Haha.. and then we have Nishikado always running away from Yuki when she appear =) They make a cute couple too. Oh and the part in the airplane (F4's wedding gift to the 2 of them), Rui stood up and because of hie height, he knocked himself against the ceiling! Wahaha... the movie overall was really enjoyable and and nice neat end to the whole Hana Yori Dango series. =) Although I'm sad that its all over... I might go and rewatch the series again!

This line was said by Makino when the 2 of them were stranded on the island in the movie. I think its very meaningful, and awwww so sweeeeet=)

White Lotus Snowskin Mooncake
Ingredients
250g raw macadamia nuts
150 icing sugar
150g cooked glutinous flour
50g shortening
160ml cold water
1/2 tsp pandan-flavoured green food colouring
500g lotus paste
Extra cooked glutinous rice flour for dusting
Method
1. Halve the macadamia nuts and toast them in the oven for 20mins at 130 deg C. Flip them over half-way through toasting to ensure even browning. Set aside to cool when done.
2. Place the icing sugar and cooked glutinous rice flour in a mixing bowl and rub the shortening into it with the fingertips for two minutes until a crumbly mixture forms.
3. Add cold water and pandan-flavoured green food colouring to the mixture and knead for 5 mins until a soft dough forms without uneven spots of colouring.
4. Cover mixing bowl with cling wrap and leave dough to rest for 30mins in fridge.
5. Shape 15g pieces of dough into a ball before rolling it out into a 3mm-thick circle.
6. Shape 21g lumps of white lotus paste into the balls and press three toasted macadmia nut halves into the ball.
7. Wrap the dough skin around the filling and shape it into a ball.
8. Dust mooncake moulds measuring 5cm by 4cm by 2cm with cooked glutinous rice flour. Press the filled dough ball into it gently, making sure the surface o the dough in contact with the patterned-face of the mould is smooth. Stop when te dough skin is level with the top of the mould.
9. Knock the mooncake out of the mould gently.
10. Repeat steps 5 to 9 for the other mooncakes, adjusting the amount of the dough skin and lotus, if necesary, when using a mould with different dimensions.
11. Refrigerate the mooncakes for 2 hours.
12. Allow them to sit at room temperature for 3 mins before serving.
Makes 25 mini mooncakes.

 Since the mid-autumn festival is coming.. I decided to try my hands on making the snowskin mooncakes.. =) Its actually very easy to make... no hassle at all.. Don't have to bake or what.. its just the moulding part that is more time consuming.. =)

Results are out
Yup, results are out yesterday.
I managed to passed all 5 units!
Which is truly a relieve.
Immediately cleared away all my notes and study guides from my room yesterday.
See, that is how happy i was. =)
A friend asked me, why just aim for a pass?
I answered, because i expect myself to do worst.
A pathetic mentality of a student i know.
